Sleep Tight

by Kylead   Jan 26, 2006

The full moon howls
Creatures are a stir
Silence is all that can be heard
All the children in there beds
Foolish and unaware
Having nightmares of goblins and bears

Fearing everything so big
When the sneakiest predator has already sneaked in
It crept through the window seal did not make a sound
Just came right in
Creeping up your ceiling
Staring, breathing, and waiting
Watching with its eyes gazing looking at you while you are dreaming

Its furl eyes now on your bed side
Its hairy legs now approaching your pillows side
Silently stepping toward you
You still dreaming could not begin to be aware

Now on you feel you feel tingly
And you wake up and feel a sharp pinch in your arm
And look over
And there nothing there
The predators damage has been done
It bit while you were sleeping

Now your parents try to wake you
But forever you are sleeping
Because the tiniest predator if the one you should fear

I liked this a lot, well done. I love the idea behind this, and the way you have expressed it in an ambiguous way. Nice work.
