Words Never Said

So as the world dims
she raises her puppy brown eyes
and begins to cry

so as the tears spill
down her ghostly white cheeks
she begins to regret

so as her body shuts down
everything going numb
she begins to scream

so as she realizes finally
dead is not what she really wanted to be
she dies, with the words
"I'm sorry" still on her lips
