Shared Sorrow

by Erin   Jan 27, 2006

She stood at the window
as the silvery raindrops Outside
raced their cousins down her cheeks
and by and by He came to Her

He smiled at Her
and She smiled at Him.
they heard the music in the silence
and there was no need for words

even though He was a child of the sun
and She a child of the moon,
they shared their sorrows silently,
temporarily safe from the excruciating obscenities of the Outside.

because that's how it's supposed to be.

and their pain was lessened by something as simple as listening to silence.
