Lonesome Tree

by JJ   Jan 27, 2006

Lonesome Tree

birthed from a tiny seed
I was loved and nurtured
till I could hold my own
then my master, in his haste
to grow old left me out here all alone

seasons came and went
in autumn, my leaves shed away
turning to gold
I was left bare
as the day I was born

winter came as promised
frosted snow flakes
concealed my lonely soul
as I waited for spring
to take its toll

flowers blossomed
gardens grew
my leaves renewed
green as ever
just in time for the summer

still I wait patiently
missing his presence
underneath my shade
every time the wind whispers
I hear his name

(my story revised) any suggestions are always appreciated.
