Twinkle

Twinkle, twinkle my stars,
Why do you travel so far,
Just to reach my eyes open?
And why do you twinkle,
With arms stretching out,-
To only stay for the night.

Glitter my messengers,
Your bringers of light,
Why follow your path?
Flicker in, flicker out
High above the horizon,-
Giving all a star's asked.

Twinkle for me my star,
Shine both inside and out,
Silver within but gold rim.
Then light on water and
Moon in the wayward sky,-
Aid this beauty to last.

Twinkle for you for me,
Between and across worlds,
The metaphorical and real.
And shine like no other
Tonight for just our eyes,-
Twinkle, twinkle my star!
