Still waiting

by Alexandria   Jan 28, 2006

You said to me those words I've longed to hear
That you'd call me tonight I heard it loud and clear.
I rushed home in fear of missing your call
My legs were moving so fast I was going to fall.
I sat around and waited like some some stupid fool
Thinking just one more minute, come on, keep your cool.
The minutes seemed like hours, hours of endless pain.
When I thought, why am I doing this to myself, this cant be sane.
Finally a ring, I was so panicked I didn't know what to do,
I answered the phone with a sweet Hello, and sure enough it wasn't you.
I spent the whole night waiting back and forth I paced
The next morning I woke up feeling a bit disgraced
I thought to myself that I would be OK and that my pain was fading
But when the phone rang my heart skipped a beat and I realized, I'm still waiting.
