A little poem

I've searched through many poems
To find to give to you
To express my true feelings
Yet none of them will do.

No poem previously written
Contains just what I feel
But I could never write something
To show you that this is real.

A poem can not convey this
Love I feel each day
But still I want to show you
All the things I want to say.

Six months is not a lifetime
And yet it feels as if
We've always been together
And I pray we always will.

If not in love, in friendship
As close as we can be
We were friends long before this romance
And I'll always need you in my life.

So I write this little poem,
Though it's not what I had wished for
As it doesn't express emotions
Close to what I store.

But it's the best I can offer
And it will have to do
I give to you this poem
And I promise I love you.
