Sweet Dreams

Thick black rivers,
Underneath my eyes,
Hiding the dried out tears,
Of hurt feelings inside,

The moment I came back,
Everything changed,
I felt like my heart,
Had been rearranged,

Nothing feels right,
What I do each day,
Just reminds me more,
Of the time I spent away,

The ring you gave me,
Never leaves my sight,
When I'm trying to sleep,
I hold onto it so tight,

My mind starts to drift,
I see you picture clear,
Like I'm standing there,
Hugging you so dear,

The morning I always dread,
As I wake from a dream,
That was peaceful and happy,
Till I opened my eyes it seemed,

I'm lying in my bed,
Alone once again,
Memories flood this frozen girl,
Love, happiness left to entertain,

Even though numb and alone,
These memories I wish to keep,
There the only thing that makes me happy,
Even if it's as I sleep.
