An Ever Constant Battle

by rawrrr♥   Jan 30, 2006

In this shallow grave
A lost and tormented soul
Waits to find love
That was once felt
But not really
For this feeling of love
Was only truly
Expressed by it
And not any other
‘Though the other
Played a cruel trick
Making this soul
For once feel whole
Only to then leave it
Stranded and forgotten
Tired and alone
Unwilling to move onward
For the soul believed
That this other
Would eventually return
With more love and caring
Than that is has ever known before
When others pressed it
To move on to a new love
If fought with vengeance
And even now is still fighting
This ever so bloody battle
All on its own
While it becomes covered
With more bruises and scars
To the final point
Where there is no willingness left
To hold on to its very life

It is hard to love and the to have lost. From your poem you seem to have had the short end of a relationship and that is never easy to swallow, especially when you are in love. I have a lot of poems on this topic, as I have gotten through a smilar situation myself. Just a thought for you . . . is the person that left you, that hurt you so bad, are they worth all the harm you are doing to yourself? You are letting them win you see, when you are imprisoned by the cruelty. They were not right, but you give them the whole victory if you let them continue to destroy you. They have lost you, and that is their loss to regret forever, but you, you have been saved the trouble of remaining with someone who could have hurt you even more. You got out, and you are feel from the jerk who hurt you. You get to move on to find someone who really deserves you and who will love you for it. Best of luck baby!
