Blessing United

She silently sat staring into the unknown
searching deep for answers
clutching the ache within her chest
as spasms after spasm of coughing
grasps her , life slipping away

Her eyes dark and sunken
pale skin now replaces
a face that once held beauty
yet a faint smile can be seen
upon lips touched with pain

Deep, deep into the depths
of her daughter's sea blue eyes
eyes that hold youth and vitality
she sees something ,long forgotten
a piece of her, a reflection of herself

Her breathing becomes rapid
lungs struggling for every breath
she touches the sweet soft cheek
of her darling child,her blood
whispering a faint I love you

Slowly her breathing becomes shallow
a single tear trickles from her eye
her questions answered
life and love ,given and received
serenity fills her soul

Peaceful sleep blesses her
she quietly slips away,knowing
within the heart of her daughter
and those that will follow
she will live on forever,in a reflection
