Self doubt

by Nil   Jan 31, 2006

Self-doubt caused by
Looking in a mirror
Taking in the imperfections
Of pretending to be pure

You'll smile a smile
before leaving with grace
Making sure everything's ok
in it's right place

Lips that smile
Rosy tinted cheeks
Eyes circled in black
Through which sadness can't be seen

Normal Clothes though
You don't want attention
The emotions flood you
Whenever anyone looks your direction

What are they thinking?
Is there something wrong with me?
Can they see my broken wings?
Can they see all my dirty stains

Hiding the signs
You'll smile and wave
Pretending your confident
pretending your brave

Eventually self-doubt will catch up
And win your race
Because no matter how long you wait
You'll always wake up with the same face...

Starting the emotions once again.
