My Purpose

by Tim Bradshaw   Jan 31, 2006

I used to wonder why,
You decide to pick on me.
My life so hectic and filled with pain,
Yet no reasoning that I could see.

I wondered why my dad was gone,
And why you let my mom do drugs,
And let's not forget the worst part,
When we had to sleep with bugs.

My life seemed like it had no meaning,
Why should anyone deal with this ache?
This was too much for a child to handle,
Too much pain for anyone to take.

But I kept on going not knowing why,
Waiting for your reasons for what you've done,
And you showed me the meaning of life,
By giving me my beautiful son.

Now I see what your plan was,
Things in life are bad and good,
I stuck through the roughest of times,
As I think any good man would.

So I guess this is my thank you god,
Because I wouldn't change a thing.
The bad has given me a lot of knowledge,
And a son is the best that you could bring.

Wow Tim, this is a Great poem...
I don't even know what to say, great job!
When bad things happen, you have no choice but to continue living life...
God choses each and every one of our fates, each of us has a purpose to live...
This poem conveys a great message, great job on it..
    5/5 Take care!

In the second stanza the rhyming seemed a little forced...other then that, no critiques from me. what an awesome write! I love the message this conveys...
