Everyone knows and everyone hates

Everyone knows and everyone hates
the drama and pain that the heart creates
it makes us believe impossible things
that once were possible only in dreams

for awhile it makes us jump for joy
then it breaks us like a cheap toy
it leaves us twisted, confused, and lost
and cares not about the cost

the heart is an organ with a mind of its own
it makes us feel wanted, then later, alone
it leads us down paths we later regret
and leaves us with pain we can never forget
