One Million Words- Part 1

by The Wingless   Feb 1, 2006

I know that you're hiding things,
Using gentle words to protect me,
You words are like a dream,
But dreams can't trick me,
Not easily, at least.

I acted distant before,
I didn't say good bye,
before you left,
But I was listening,
You'll fight your battles without me,
You'll fight them far to easily.

"Hold you heart I will be back."
The words etched into my brain,
I could hear those words when you walked out the door,
I had to hide the pain.

I turned the pages,
Yelling might have been the answer,
But what if I begged you not to go?
And now I am afraid,
To say what I believe in.

Because 1 million words,
Call out to you,
They'll fly from me,
They will find you through the good in your heart,

1 million words,
1 million hugs,
Will keep you safe,
Making your days seem better,
They will hold you,
Never letting go,

But 1 million words,
1 million hugs,
I gave to you,
Never returned back,
The special words,
The power inside them,
Never came back.

Only one way,
To write 1 million words now,
Writing about my sorrows,
Writing about my fears,
1 million words of heart,
And they never leave.

I gave you 1 million words, and I really expected them back...
