One Million Words- Part 2

by The Wingless   Feb 1, 2006

Being surrounded by the rain,
It sounds like depressing sighs,
Of the people of the city,
Who lost what they had.

I look at their faces,
They are tired and confused,
The same thing must of happened,
To them, as it did to me.

I then realized,
That words are powerless.
There's only one word,
One word that reaches people,
Love,
But even that word was ignored.

No matter how many words,
Fifty, One thousand,
My One Million,
They never close the gap,
Filled with the cold,

My hands stretch to reach,
The depths it never will,
The parts I never had reached,
The parts I never will.
All the words fade now,
I realize they are useless.

I slowly close my eyes,
And I listen to my heart beat,
I imagine walking with you,
To change my words to actions,
To show what I really mean,
Not just say it.

But that time has passed,
And even the dream knows that,
The time is gone,
No more tries,
I try to grasp the concept,
Of seeing is believing,
But it just slips away.

I still can't comprehend,
Why there is such a difference,
Between true words,
One million words,
And true actions,
One million actions.

The darkness pulls me in,
And my words come back,
Changed,
Different words,
I can't describe,
Words such as,
Hate,
Pain,
Defeat.

I did not understand those words,
But I received one million,
and I am changing now,
I don't know if it's good or bad,
But my words are different,
The feelings are different,
Everything is negative.

The change is complete, and my new heart tries to tell me:

I wasted one million words on.... you.

Equally as sad and beautiful as its prequel, I found the last lines very touching. I love the expression "my new heart". Again very well done,
