Take the Narrow Road

by Always4You   Feb 1, 2006

Following a winding, narrow path.
Hoping to hide from Satan's wrath.
I trip and fall hard on my knees.
Crying out loud; Someone, hear my pleas.

I wipe my fear stricken face with my mud stained hands.
No one seems to understand.
My life is going nowhere.
As tears start to fall from my weary eyes, I whisper a sincere prayer.

"God, if you are real, save me from this road I'm taking."
My life is falling apart and my heart, it's still aching.
My past is holding me down like chains.
Crying out to God, it starts to rain.

The mud is washed clean from my face.
I am saved, saved by God's loving grace.
I continue down that narrow road.
With God next to me; He helps carry my load.

I walk away, free from my sins, free from the mud.
Only because Jesus shed his blood.
I'd rather walk the narrow path, running to God along the way,
than take the wide path toward Satan. He'd enjoy watching my life decay.

Following Christ, I will live.
No matter what my mistakes, He is always there, always ready to forgive.
