Strange Valentine's Dance

by 100Percent_inlove   Feb 1, 2006

The Valentine's dance came closer,
Another day of fun.
As the bread came out of the toaster,
Janie thought "This dance is the one."
The one that will make her smile,
For she had never danced with a guy.
A girl of good natural profile,
Never danced? This must be a lie.
But it was true, and this was the time,
Though for now she had no pair.
"I'll go with my friends, it should be fine.
Maybe I'll meet someone cute with great hair."
So they all agreed and on that day,
Sadly, she felt alone.
It wasn't because of her friends, I have to say.
With them she had fun, it was shown.
She felt that in the fairy tale scene,
She would never find her prince.
Then suddenly, there he was, walking between.
A sight she has remembered since.
He wore a white mask
Over his eyes and nose,
She couldn't do anything but gasp
When to dance, her he chose.
She was speechless and he didn't say a word.they only danced the rest of the night.
And finally, when it was time to go,
He said "You changed my world tonight.
Now I can finally rest,
For someone I love loves me back.
Love at first sight was the best,
The best thing to give us what we lack."
Before she could utter a sound,
He stood up, kissed her hand, and disappeared.
Confused as she was, she was bound
To remember the night he was near.
She won't forget him leaving and his unknown cause,
Or what a teacher to her later said.
After looking for him, she asked who he was,
But her teacher only said, he was already dead.
