Burn

by LadyPearl   Feb 2, 2006

Like the fire, you sear my skin
brutally hurting me in bliss
Like a blade, you carve your words
upon my arms, until it hurts

Losing the ecstasy of feeling content
Like a baby, lost in the open plain
inside, I try to suppress what I resent
And my cause of forever pain

Don't you realize, it's not a good day
to lecture me about the past
Your foible words leads me astray
Use to be first, now I come last

Because this fire now burns below me
I no longer enjoy my hobbies
I haven't felt the pleasure of flattery
Or what was once my fantasy

I did everything before out of gratification
but when your forcefullness came in
You hunted out every rapturous sensations
And my interests now fades dim

Great piece.I can really feel the pain, sadness, despair all fading into an emptiness. The rhyme scheme is a bit off in a couple spots, but regardless this still has a good flow to it and what is overpowering is the way you convey the emotions by how you say it.Fantastic job.A very touching piece.
