Even The Beautiful Pass On

by flawed diamond   Feb 2, 2006

The prettiest thing to posses
Is courage and faith
The ability to love
While all others hate

To leave something behind
When you are no longer physically here
Endangering your life
Just to express your care

But even the most beautiful flower
Must wither eventually and die
The last petals falling
And taking to the sky

It's not even death
just a transformation from good to better
And who deserves that more
I can't think of anyone better

A life not in vain
That's a life to live
Give all you can
And that's what you did

Sometimes death is a happy thing
Even though you're forever gone
You lived an extraordinary life
Just another beautiful one to pass on

Your dream didn't live on forever
You made it a reality
And that, another rose in the garden
Is what makes you a beauty

In Memory Of Mrs. Coretta Scott King (1927-2006)

I love the love in your poem. It reminds me of someone who just passed away. GOOD JOB!
