9 years

Kindergarten was the easiest of them all
When the only thing to make you cry was a fall
When we were allowed to sleep in class
And an idea of having a blast
Would be on new year's eve

Next was first grade
When cooties were still on boys
And all we wanted were those toys
A kiss made everything better
And we played in every whether

Soon we became second graders
We met new friends
Hoping when summer comes it will never end
Starting to want to sleep again
Feeling like class will never end

Then on to third grade
Some people moved on
And their childhood was gone
Watching M.T.V.
Not wondering what the future may be

Then to fourth grade
We learned about life
Not knowing about things we had to sacrifice
Preparing for the next year
With not much as a single fear

And we started fifth grade
Soon leaving into a new school
Trying so hard just to be cool
Learning about trends
Learning rules were there to bend

Last year or elementary, sixth grade
A little drama
Along with all the karma
Not wanting to leave
That's the truth you won't deceive

Onto a new school as 7th graders
Nervous and filled with fears
Going through lies and tears
Hooking up and breaking up
Getting fed up cause you've had enough

Now we're eighth graders
Missing the past
"Do you want to go back?"
You don't even have to ask
