BORN INTO WAR

by Jay   Feb 3, 2006

I was only 5 when I realized what I wanted to be
A Cincinnati soldier standing on one knee
Shooting a bullet from hell, at a 80 yard range into a soldiers chest
To my surprise he caught it and out ran the rest
We were winning the war, 48 to 21
Just a few more shots and the fight will be won
Killing every man that tries to even touch me
How can I go wrong for trying to defend my country?
I was born to be one of many Marvin Louis's slaves
Knowing that one-day I will be sent to my grave.

-Jay Tubbs

My dream of being drafted came to me as a child
The dream of wearing the black and orange colors proud
The thought of catching a missile and taking it back to home base
I can already see the like on my sergeant's face.
At the age of fourteen I spent days and days testing the limits of my body
Trying to reach the Bengal that was deep down inside me.
I came from rags to riches in two years flat
Thanks to my parents getting out of debt
My mama told me that when I get drafted that things were going to try to get in my way
Like girls, jealous people, and old friends with nothing to say.

Now am sixteen years of age and my dream still lives on
The dream of being the top soldier to be voted number one
Or the soldier with the best skill with handling a gun
If I get shot or wounded it really doesn't matter at all
Because there is no gain without pain in the game of football!
