Near but so Far

by Erika   Jan 12, 2004

Red skin was all to show of how you made
This lasting punishment for me to wade
Now what I have in a mirror into which I fade
Break off a piece of my heart for you to keep
For that I may no longer waste in sleep
To calm me and far away into where I may seep
Black Shades to contrast with your white eyes
And lately I have noticed their lonely cries
I wish I could comfort the tears that roll and die
I feel your pain, I feel your joy, it's an echo
Off of a Canyon I was near long ago
It's hard to detach from your feelings, not letting go
