Fall From Grace

by Kim   Feb 3, 2006

Overtones of guilt
Flicker in her anguished eyes
Teetering on the precipice of ruin
Everything she's worked for
Slowly, irrevocably, slipping away

Haunting dreams of reality
Torment her restless, saddened soul
And the light of her heart is extinguished
Frantically clawing for a way out
Desperatly seeking a solution
Yet finding nothing

Tortured visions of her undeniable future
Amble ruthelessly along the horizon
Forcing wave upon wave of bleak despair
To crash over her trembling lonesome form

Vacant eyes stare through the darkness
As firey tears trace molten paths of regret down her lonely face
And as she closes her forlorn eyes to the world
She knows she can never hide from the inconsolable misery within herself
