In a Blink of an eye

You were here, you were gone,
In the blink of an eye.
My heart has been broken,
To carry on I will try.

I think of you often,
And wish you were here.
And when times are the roughest,
I can feel and see you so clear.

I know you're still near,
Sometimes I feel you so strong.
With you as my guardian,
I can never go wrong.

So guide me my sweet one,
Wherever you are.
Go on, lead the way,
But never stray from me far.

I'm counting on you son,
To show me the way.
What to do with my life,
Not just live day to day.

To feel I've accomplished something,
Besides sit around and cry.
For I've been shown it can all be over,
"In the blink of an eye."
