Death Is...

by Kerri   Feb 4, 2006

Death is silent
it can come in the night
it can creep in the darkness
it can scare you with fright

death is still
it lurks all around
if you aren't careful
it can put you in the ground

death is a killer
caused by many things
some death was meant to be
how do you think angels get their wings

death is unpleasant
-it wasn't their time to leave
-they weren't supposed to go that way
us loved ones were left behind to grieve

we do not grieve their death
we do not grieve our strife
we comfort others and let them know
we must celebrate their life

they are gone some place better
a place to be happier than they were here
a place to roam free
a place we should not fear

that place is a perfect world
where there is no pain
a place that everyone is happy
and not in vain

yet we stay down here
and look to those above
we think about them everyday
and still shower them with love

we know that they feel it
that feeling of being thought about
we don't have to say it out loud
and we don't have to shout

we know deep down they hear us
because up there they can see
they are in the Creators care
in a place they can roam free
