On the mountain

by Bilquis   Feb 4, 2006

Although I stand on a mountain now
I feel as if I was real down
Although I stand on a mountain now
I feel as if I was real down
And the high feeling which I hoped to find
I must have lost somewhere behind
I have never thought I ever would
Nor ever dreamed I ever could
Sacrifice so very much to climb
This mountain of my childish pride
And now I'm here but all alone
Making solitude my only home
And here I'll stand until the end
Using pride for my defense
Solely my feeling's treachery
Will rest here as my company
On this mountain where I stay
Passing safe though lonely days
But this is where I choose to be
Hiding from all agony
For greater pain is waiting beyond
This dreary mountain which I'm on.
