A Moment Not Wasted

by Brandan Broich   Feb 5, 2006

I am lying in bed
Your head to mine,
You open your eyes
A sweet kiss good night.

I watch as you sleep
That kiss on your cheek,
Your eyes flutter, then they blink
I smile, and think how sweet.

As I write, I stop to hear you breathe
Your so close I feel your heart beat.

Each time you move, a sweet touch of love,
I stop and think as you sleep,
Then a smile comes across your face.

I look once more at your face
A moment, I could not waste,
The time I spent was worth the while
I stay awake for one more smile.
