If You Were

by The Wingless   Feb 5, 2006

I'm a dreamer.
When,
Where,
How does the light,
Of the day pour down?

Dimly white,
The rays,
Touched a smile,
And made me laugh,
Somehow they did.

But that sunshine,
Doesn't touch this place,
My secret place,
Where I cry all alone,
As if I were screaming,
I call out your name,
If you were here,
You weren't really here.

One day, I'll go to that place,
Where the sun really touches,
I can't end this way,
I still have promises to keep,
Far off the path,
Into the straight path,
If you were here,
You weren't really here.

I'll find that place,
Where the sunlight beams,
That far off road,
The beam of light,
If you were here,
You weren't really here.
