Our Star

by Jenny   Feb 5, 2006

I'm sitting in my room, staring at our star,
I wonder how you're doing, wondering where you are.
I didn't know it would be like this without you.
No one can make me laugh like you do.

I don't seem to be able to smile anymore...
Not since I watched you walk out my door.
I don't want to got out and have any fun,
The day you said goodbye, my life was done.

I wish I could be mad at you, and hate you,
I wish I could move on, find a love that's true.
But how can I when these tears fall from my eyes?
And I know that everyone can see through my disguise.

You were my everything, my whole life, now I'm lost.
When we first started dating, I had no idea of the cost.
All I seem to be able to do anymore is wander around.
Remember when we first met? We said our true love was found.

I just wish I would have known that you weren't happy
Or paid attention on all those nights when I got sappy.
Wherever you go, whatever you do, know that I'll always love you.
And if you want to come back, I'll do whatever I have to do.

Other than a few of the lines feeling forced because of your strictly chosen rhyme scheme this piece is extraordinary. A lot of people can relate though it has a personal touch to it and your voice really shines through. Very well written.
