What Is Age?

What is age,
a simple reminder,
of time spent on Earth,
a little number?

We all make a deal,
out of how old we are,
21 to drink,
sixteen to drive a car.

But the age I'm talking about,
is the kind between 2 people,
that might interfere,
with the way they feel.

Four little years,
that is all that stands between,
time flies by so fast,
know what I mean?

Why should it matter,
how long we've been alive,
when you might be in love,
all you can do is try.

A little number,
like dust in the air,
won't stop this heart,
for my love will be shared.
