Tear

by Sean Brady   Feb 7, 2006

To bleed is to feel and to cry is to care
All these feelings I can't cry about or share
It's when you wish tears would come to your eyes so you would feel better
When you look up and wish the rain was wetter
Wet enough to drown you in your own sorrow
Give today and take tomorrow
I kill myself a thousand times a day in my own head
I curl up in my own ball of self pity on my bed
Waiting hours and hours for these tears to shed
I always said I never needed anyone else or anything better
But now I'm making paper cuts writing you a love letter
So it ends up that you are the one I kept myself away from all these years
To hide myself from all the tears
The tears never to be shed because nothing appears
An empty pit called a stomach
Scarred with acid from your burning heart
That I've been feeding on from the start
When I die I'll make sure you never find out
Because of the promise we made
That if not together we could never live without
