The Dance

by Danielle   Feb 8, 2006

As I sink into your arms
There is peace in my mind
I have never felt this comfortable.
As I sway back and forth in your arms,
I feel a gentle bliss.
My mind clears and thinks only of you.
The words of the song never really register,
I don't know what it is saying.
I just know I don't want the dance to end.
The dance has sent me into realization.
I knew I didn't want to leave your arms,
But I didn't know how bad.
I knew I had strong feelings for you,
But I didn't know how strong.
I knew I didn't want to leave the safety of your arms,
But I never knew how safe I felt.
When my head finds your shoulder,
I begin to know what I didn't know before.
I know that after the dance you'll be there for me,
Our lives are different but are really the same.
I know how much I care about you,
Enough to never want to let go.
I know what my feelings are toward you,
This isn't hatred but its love.
After the dance is over,
I'll always be there for you,
And I'll always be dancing in my heart.
