Going Through The Motions

by Drew Pieper   Feb 8, 2006

A flash of a smile
Grins as long as a mile
A breeze of happiness
Then a cold chill of nothingness

Darkness rises over all
A night soon to fall
Tears of great despair
For those who didn't care

Rain of fire and rage
To feel like life's a cage
Thought to be homicidal
Just to turn out to be suicidal

The way life makes us feel
Changes like the taste of a good meal
Like drinking mythical potions
That is what its like to be going through the motions
