Nearly There

by Hevarella   Feb 8, 2006

As I was sitting there today,
As I was gazing out of the window,
I remembered a season.
I remember what we did in that season last year.
the mornings would be cool,
as the day woke up,
we would breathe in the fresh air that would be coming in the open windows,
as the day went on the air would get hotter,
so we'd have to take our jumpers off.
People would walk around with water bottles, ready to fill them up when they had the chance.
And after lessons had finished, we would walk to the beach ready to be greeted with the freezing spray of the sea,
and laugh, sitting on the pebbles with friends.
And maybe another day, we would lie on the grass in the park,
after having stuffed ourselves with food in the picnic we brought out with us,
before hauling ourselves up to play a bit of tennis,
laughing as the ball rolled past us,
again.
we're almost at that season,
nearly there,
not quite just yet.
