One Rose

It's that time again,
I have to deal with all these men,
this day just goes on and on,
I'd rather mow a thousand lawns.

It's not that I'm against this day,
I just don't like it at all okay?
you see, I've never had a single rose,
this flower, I've never smelled with my nose.

I used to love this day a whole lot,
until one day, my heart was shot,
all my friends were getting their own,
I felt like I was trapped in a cone.

I only want one rose, nothing more,
now on valentines day, my heart will be sore,
this day filled with love and care,
when it comes to me, no one will share.

Friends all seem to pity me,
it's in their eyes, I can see,
but I will not let this get me down,
I will never cry in this town.

I just hope that maybe this year,
I won't go home, ready to burst to tears,
it doesn't seem too hard a task,
it's just one rose, that's all I ask.
