Nobly Born God Has Sworn Across The Land

by Michael D Nalley   Feb 9, 2006

It pleases me when the noble, think of me
And state for me a truth that I may not see
But a simple truth may not be
The whole truth, that will set me free

The truth that I may be set in my ways
And that is how I should live out my days
But wait noble one, not so fast
It is true I cling to the past

But a root, that is bound to the old earth I know,
Truly must find another fertile place to go
So the whole plant can live, flourish and grow
Before the winter buries it in the snow

Oh Nobly Born God has sworn Across the land
I hope you may see, and try to understand
A simple truth is not the only truth at hand
The truth has many angles, and can expand

I have had to change my ways so many times in my life
But the changes were necessary to avoid the strife
Many changes were made for me, and cut me like a knife
You are not my mother, and you are surely not my wife

Set in my ways, I may be
It is no more, true of me,
Really no more than it is of thee
That's another side of the truth, you see

But you see dear sister you made me see
That it is not important what pleases me
For you see dear sister so nobly born
We were put here to please the One, Who has sworn

O Nobly born God has sworn across the land
It is sometimes hard to really understand
How you stay so busy with the tasks at hand
When there is a need you always fill the demand

O Nobly born God has sworn
When Gabriel blows his horn
And the Lord gathers His corn
His table you will adorn

Nobly born your work is so fulfilling and grand
I'm sure you'll work until you reach the Promised Land
Because I know that the nobly born
Are pleasing to the One, Whom, has sworn
