God Has Sworn Grace

by Michael D Nalley   Feb 9, 2006

Oh God has sworn grace to the flower
Grace falls upon her like a shower
Grace that's given by the Endower
Grace falling from the mighty power

All fragrant flowers come in the spring
Bringing beauty and grace to everything
In April the birds began to sing
Waiting for the wedding bells to ring

So it was that her children were born
Sent forth by the grace that God has sworn
As the flowers of spring were sent to adorn
The meadow until Gabriel blows his horn

By the grace of God she'll follow Loves course
As the race of the cart will follow the horse
And the place of the heart goes to the source
Where the face of its art shows through the Force

The Force that makes the flowers of springtime grow
Rains down from the place where we were meant to go

I had to read it a couple of times and was a little lost but thats probably just from my young age. and lack of vocab and history in some parts

Great poem, but it seemed like you were trying to write a sonnet in the beginning with the 9,9,9,9 in the first stanza then 9,10,9,9 in the second, then 9,9,11,11 in the third and 10,11,10,10 then 11,11 in the last. it made it a lil choppy but i still liked the whoe theme and the words chosen to express lifes motions. good poem overall.
