Nocturnal Visions.

by Steven Beesley   Feb 9, 2006

Nocturnal visions:

As a blanket of stars sheds it's light
in the deep dark fathoms of the night,
crickets singing away in unison like
some large orchestral piece before unheard.

All in a rhythmic mono-tone harmony.
Fire flies flitting in the deep wood
against the eerie calmness in the glen.
In the background the sound of water running in the lone brook.

The champagne colored moon casting
it's light on the bleak wind swept moor.
We hear the sounds of bats in flight
looking for their midnight prey.

A big brown owl in the trees
stares on in tedium and defiance
of all these nightly proceedings,
awaiting for that one lone field mouse to go astray.

Only those nocturnal in their
instincts would dare venture into
the lonely chilly wilds, for you would
not see what you would by the light of day.

Ahh it so amazing. i admire your work. you write such beautiful poetry! this piece has so much creativity in it. and every stanza seems to have an awkward comparison the first stanza with the crickets and the orchestral piece comparison that was .. just stunning how you put that together.. .so amazing.
