15 minutes in an elevator

15 minutes in an elevator
can seem like an hour
…
whistle
out LOUD
drop off at the half-note
whistle high
whistle low
‘Whistle everywhere you go’
tappa, tappa
…
Excuse me, sorry
don’t mind me, I’m --
is pathological idiot a condition?
…
nice purse,
yeah,
I wanted to steal something like that once…
what?
why pay money for something that you keep money in?
you wonder about these things sometimes
okay, you might not
but I do
I have been accused of being weird
“If something is weird it is not understood properly”
I’m misunderstood
call me Miss Understood, greatness
eye roll,
sigh, SSDD
…
will these doors ever open!--
Hi!
fine, go ahead
ignore me
everyone else does
…
my fingers itch
my fingers itch to push a button
buttons, buttons, buttons
a world full of buttons
for me to push
I could push them all
I could light up the board
pushing buttons is fun
especially yours
& so remarkably easy
how could I know
I could effect you so
I feel so powerful
I…feel…powerful
…
it gets tiresome
this power-trip is getting old
I go through all this trouble
pushing buttons
nothing moves
we’re still stuck on this elevator
pushing your buttons
I enlighten you
but now I’m quite bored
because you give me nothing in return
same button
same response
the novelty is gone
pushing buttons
has gone from random to routine
but I can’t help myself
I…can’t…help
…
can’t you see
that all I really want
when I push your buttons
is someone to push mine
why don’t people come up
and ask me
what my parents never--
…
15 minutes in an elevator
can seem like an hour

That's definitely different. I really liked it. I'm a random type person, so this is a really good poem. Keep up the good work.
