Baby

by gasping for air   Feb 12, 2006

With my hands on my tummy,
I sing to you, little one,
I sing of happiness,
And of sunshine,
I tell you how beautiful you will be,
And how much I love you already.
You weren't planned,
But nor are you a mistake,
I will never regret,
Making you with your daddy,
Or going on to raise you.
I love you baby,
With all of my heart,
And nothing will ever change that,
Your daddy may be here,
And he may not,
But you can always count on mommy,
To be here day and night.
I hope I can do right by you,
I pray that I will be the best I can,
I want to be the mommy you need,
And the one you want,
I love you baby,
I always have.
Mommy will be here,
When you fall down and cry,
And mommy will be here,
To see the sunshine in your eyes,
I can't wait to see you,
I miss you already,
Even though I've never seen your beautiful face.
I'm here waiting,
Hopefully your daddy too,
And I will love you and give you everything,
That you deserve,
I promise, baby.
