The Mirror

Look in the mirror
what do you see?
A sad little girl
who looks just like me.

Her hair,
a hallow of curls,
all about her head.

Always,
surrounded by girls,
laughing at what was said.

But at night,
when she is all alone
with fresh cuts on her arm
her true self is shown.

Always pretending
a mask does she wear.
Too afraid to be herself
in the real world out there.

Cry as she does
every single night
Wanting to give up
on this long lost fight.

So look in the mirror,
what do you see?
A girl, as miserable
as miserable can be.
