To Wait or Not?

I hear someone say,
"Should I wait?"
That question, for me,
open a big gate.

I know I like him.
Does he like me?
I tell myself to give him time,
but he can't hear my silent plea.

The way he smiles and glances
is what always keeps me waiting,
but with every day that we don't talk,
my hope continues fading.

I tell myself to forget him,
but that won't stop my anticipation.
Either I wait or make a move.
For now, I'll choose the desperation.
