She draws a paper heart.
shades of pink to red.
she has markers out.
and crayons for inside the heart.
she tells everyone its for someone she loves.
she works all day on it.
she gets the glue out.
and puts glitter all of the heart.
the blues, to the purples, to the shinny air.
she starts to write inside the heart.
"YOU HAVE BEEN HERE FOR ME".
and she stops.
thinking that's just not right.
trying to make it perfect.
someone looks at her heart.
she looks over and says.
this is for someone i love.
a boyfriend is a lucky kid.
for this one is working so hard.
it's almost the end of the day.
she finishes up her heart.
she writes everything down.
on that heart.
the paper heart made of glitter and glue.
she goes home.
pulls into the driveway.
she walks inside the house.
and finds her mom in the kitchen.
"Hey Mom" "i made you something"
but i threw it away.
