Life seems so unfair sometimes
It\'s hard to see it through,
Depression,killing, suicide
Today is nothing new.
How can one take their life
Or that of a brother
Why must we all continue
Hurting one another?
It seems like love never appears
In the news these days,
Just terror, mayhem, and abuse
God, we have to change our ways.
I don\'t want to live in a world
Where a boy can shoot his mother
Or her husband can blacken the eye
Of the one who was once his lover
Will it ever end?
Will peace be there to find?
I don\'t know how some can have
The thoughts that they do in their mind.
Not even safe in our homes these days
The threats come to us there...
All I can do is close my eyes
And offer up this prayer
God please help those who have no conscience
And keep us safe from harm...
Fold this world into your embrace
And hold us in your loving arm.
