As day fades into inky night
I stare up; breathless
At a sunset so beautiful and heart retching
That I feel tears flow
Velvet skies
Stain pink and orange skies
Set on fire by the sun
Shivers run up and down my spine with excitement and wonder
As this very sunset steals the very breath out of my lungs
Winter’s wrath is visible through the lifeless trees but oh how the glowing sun
Allures me in a way that only Mother Nature could
As day fades into night
I feel a part of me sink and fade into the mountains and hills that surround me….
Forever grasping me in its warmth and allure
