As the pain dies down
I think back to when this all started
Memories of those times
Play back in my head
I think about them everyday
Some days they make me smile
And some they make me angry
Sitting here I remember the look on your face
The look of disappointment
Which I once thought was funny
Now I think about it with regret
The pain you caused me
Seemed like the world at the time
Now it compares to a grain of sand
Rolling around in my once white shoe
The look on your face
As I watched you walk out of that door
Stays clear in my head
Followed by questions I want to ask you
And ones I need to ask myself
The memories of those times
I hold them close to my heart
Today the memories haunt my thoughts…
