Hearts Broken In Sorrowful Eyes

by Nicholas Kerst   Feb 15, 2006

Frayed, crumpled papers drift in darkness,
Showing pictures of love, thrown down in hate,
Hearts broken in sorrowful eyes,
The souls final statement is spoken too late.

The streets are filled with broken lives,
Searching for something to justify existence,
When something so meaningful becomes without meaning,
Lives give in to the pains persistence.

And the final word is spoken by they,
The souls windows to the outside sorrow,
Tears drop as the moon falls from the sky,
Sadly, there is one more tomorrow.
