Surrender

by Bilquis   Feb 15, 2006

You rushed into my quiet life,
My castle of inviolability,
You rode in there with your flaming sword
And thrusted it into my callous heart.
You didn't need many words to melt me,
My watchtower collapsed instantly.
The minute your spike permeated my skin
I was already doomed to give in
You crowned yourself triumphally
You knew you had me and ruled my life
You demanded surrender on your conditions,
No choices given, no compromise,
No understanding nor sympathy,
The weaker part was always me.
You frightened me with your hoydenish governance
And the way you forced me to expose
Although I was befuddled by your allure
Intinctively I felt I had to go
I knew you'd try to hold me tight
But the way you'd do it won't feel right
Your grasp will hold me,
Not close but down particularly,
I tried to run away silently,
To sneak out of your dominion,
But you always brought me back violently,
I never really came very far,
And with every battle I lost against you
I carried along another scar.
