Ive gone through tough times
Some in which are unfair
People hating me and calling me out
Theres nothing that can compare
Ive gone through tough times
Some I didnt shine through
Some just got to my mind
When I no longer knew what to do
But there was one person
That believed in me
A person that insisted
That I could be whatever I wanted to be
This person taught me a lot
Too much to even explain
This person knew what I was going through
This person could feel my pain
This person was a guy
Indeed he helped me much
He taught me the simple things
The things I shouldnt touch
He taught me how to live me life
Happiness was the secret
Dont listen to what jerks have to say
Cuz one day youll sure exceed it
This guy has helped me through tough times
Days where I cried
He never seemed to surrender
He always seemed to feel pride
He explained how life was too short
You live and then you die
He taught me to never have doubts
To never wonder why
This guy and I have got in fights
Verbal, not abuse
From what he taught me I taught him
That these fights were no use
Ive gone through tough times
Hes been through more than me
He even taught me not to complain
And that there was more than to what I could see
His words of wisdom inspired me
And now Im shining through
In which I can now live me life
Knowing what I can do
I learned that I shouldnt give up
And I learned I shouldnt hide
The only secret to happiness
Is simply to live your life
