Emptiness

by Momentary Relapse   Feb 16, 2006

'Lo and behold thy time hast come
Throw down thy hand cast up thine eyes'

You tell me what to do and feel
Those pretty nothings you speak fall flat
Upon my ears and within my soul
I refuse your resolution again

'Thy mind and heart hast strayed from thee
Forget not thy summons-'

No! No more talk from your lying mouth
The words you speak are sweetened lies
Others are eager to taste your poison
I pull away from you, pulling away-forever!

'List to thy betters and receive-'

Only I know what gifts you would give
The grief you would place on my doubting mind
With tears decorating my bitter soul
I will defy you til I gasp my last

'Thou hast erred yet thou shalt know
Thy time hast come'

You lied as you made your promises
Of everlasting peace and love
Yet with my own sight I have seen
The end of an era you helped progress
Trial and error you strike again
I won't give up my soul for emptiness
